East vs West

The Gap

Korea and China against Europe and North America — one signed Elo number per international event. Above zero the East leads; below zero the gap has flipped and the West is ahead. Like all region Elo here, it only moves when East actually plays West.

Best region: each side's strongest region · Region average: mean of the two region offsets · Top 3 teams: average global Elo (domestic + region offset) of each side's three strongest active teams — hover any event for the breakdown

“The gap is closing” is the oldest argument in pro League of Legends — this is what the record actually says. Region strength is set only by inter-region games at Worlds, MSI, and other internationals, so the line steps once per event and holds flat between them. For the top-3 view, a team counts as active if it played within the previous eight months, and its rating is the same domestic-plus-region-offset Elo the Global Power Rankings use.
